PURPOSE: A method for recovering terephthalic acid is provided to effectively collect the terephthalic acid having low percentage of water content and high quality in a solid phase through a simple process by performing a filtering process, a washing process, and a drying process at the same time.;CONSTITUTION: A method for recovering terephthalic acid of high purity comprises the following steps: putting slurry including the terephthalic acid, p-toluic acid, and water into a rotary filtering device including a rotary drum; separating the terephthalic acid into a solid phase and separating a filtrate including the p-tolulic acid in to a liquid phase by dissolving the p-toluic acid into the water at 140-170 °C and supplying compressed air of 3-8 bar to the slurry; washing the solid terephthalic acid using a washing solvent; and eliminating the water contained in the solid terephthalic acid using steam having a pressure more than the pressure of the compressed air.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
