PURPOSE: A handover method between an IEEE 802.16 WiBro network and an UMTS(universal mobile telecommunication system) network using a MIH(Media Independent Handover) function and a device thereof are provided to perform the handover between the IEEE 802.16 WiBro network and the UMTS network.;CONSTITUTION: An IEEE 802.16 modem(110) establishes a wireless link with an IEEE 802.16 network. An UMTS modem establishes a wireless link with an UMTS network. A MIH entity(130) performs MIH functions.
