A METHOD FOR LOG MANAGEMENT IN FLASH MEMORY-BASED DATABASE SYSTEMS

PURPOSE: A method for managing a log in a flash memory-based database system is provided to improve the entire performance of a database by reducing the occurrence of a merging operation which results in plural writing and deletion operations. CONSTITUTION: A flash memory block is divided into a data block(210) for storing data of a database and a log block(220) for storing the log for the data block. The data block is associated with the log block. If the log for the data block is generated, the log is stored at the log block associated with the data block for which the log is generated. If the log block is filled up, the log is updated by reflecting the latest content to the data blocks.
