摘要

PURPOSE: A fail-safe control method and an electric steering device therefor are provided to prevent the malfunction of an electric steering device and to accurately detect a steering angle by applying a fail-safe logic to a motor based on the duty of the fine gain and the duty of the rough gain of a pulse width modulating signal.;CONSTITUTION: An electric power steering device comprises a sensor unit(110), an electronic control unit(120) and a motor(130). The sensor unit senses the vehicle steering information related to the steering of a vehicle. The electronic control controls the duty of the rough gain of a pulse width modulating signal corresponding to the vehicle steering information. The electronic control unit bases on the duty of the fine gain. The electronic control unit regards that the fail occurred and applies a fail-safe logic to the motor. The electronic control unit controls to apply the fail-safe logic to the motor if the duty of the fine gain continuously indicates a fixed value.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
