PURPOSE: A polynucleotide containing SNP derived from DEFA4(defensin alpha 4, corticostatin) gene is provided to use as a marker for clinical diagnosis for autism. CONSTITUTION: A marker for clinical diagnosis for autism contains a polynucleotide having 10 or more serial DNA sequences having 251th base, C in a polynucleotide having DNA sequence of sequence number 1, or complementary nucleotide thereof. The length of the polynucleotide is 10-100 nucleotide. A primer for amplifying for diagnosing autism contains the polynucleotide or complementary polynucleotide thereof. A microarray contains the probe for diagnosing autism. A method for detecting the SNP comprises: a step of preparing nucleic acid sample from a test sample; and a step of analyzing base sequence of SNP from the nucleic acid sample.
