PURPOSE: A method for removing heavy metal using spores and method for promoting plant growth in contaminated soil are provided to efficiently remove heavy metal.;CONSTITUTION: A method for removing heavy metal using spores comprises: a step of binding a peptide having 4-10 serial histidine residue on the surface of a spore; and a step of contacting the spore on a sample containing the heavy metal. A method for promoting plant growth in the contaminated soil comprises: a step of binding a peptide containing 4-10 serial histidine residue on the surface of a spore; a step of contacting the spore to the contaminated soil or plant; and a step of raising the plant.
