PURPOSE: A closed form bit error rate performance calculating method and a device thereof are provided to have a bit error rate formula which has an accurate value by inducing a closed form bit error rate formula based on the bit error rate formula of a quadratic pulse amplitude modulation. CONSTITUTION: A transmission signal, which is orthogonally amplitude-modulated based on a hexadecimal, is modeled. The modeled transmission signal is modeled after passing a down-chirp filtering process. A closed form bit error rate regarding the modeled down-chirp output signal is calculated. The modeling step of the transmission signal which is orthogonally amplitude-modulated based on hexadecimal comprises an up-chirp filtering process.
