PURPOSE: An environment-friendly high efficiency household gas range with a gas burner of a surface combustion type is provided to reduce the contamination of the indoor air by discharging a contaminated material of a low contamination level through a surface combustion gas burner. CONSTITUTION: An environment-friendly high efficiency household gas range with a gas burner of a surface combustion type is composed of a main body(1) and an upper plate(4). The main body comprises a knob(11) and a gas burner(3). The gas burner is composed of a mixing tube, a burner head, a knitted metal fiber mat and a horizontal plate. On the horizontal plate, a plurality of holes are formed. A cavity(2) is selectively formed on both sides or the central part of the inside. The cavity comprises a grill gas burner. The grill gas burner is composed of a duct and a knitted metal fiber mat. The knitted metal fiber mat blocks the inside of the duct and generates the flame through the discharged air.
