MOVABLE BILGE KEEL FOR THE RELIEF OF SLAMMING LOADS, CAPABLE OF SATISFYING A FRESH SAILING CONDITION FOR PASSENGERS

PURPOSE: A movable bilge keel for the relief of slamming loads is provided so that the vortex is formed on the surrounding fluid area due to the repetitive vertical rotating operation and thus the transferred slamming shock can be dispersed and cancelled.;CONSTITUTION: A movable bilge keel(10) for the relief of slamming loads comprises a fixed end. The fixed end of the movable bilge keel is connected to a marine structure by a hinge(11). The movable bilge keel is installed to be rotatable in a vertical direction from the slamming shock power. The end of an arm(12) extended from the hinge of the movable bilge keel is supported by an elastic member(13). The movable bilge keel is installed independently of the left and right directions of the marine structure. The elastic member supports the movement to the vertical rotating direction of the bilge keel. The movable bilge keel is installed in plural before and after the marine structure. The elastic member is formed by one of a spring, a hydraulic cylinder and a pneumatic cylinder. A sealing member(15) is installed on the fixed end of the movable bilge keel.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
