PURPOSE: A method and a system for supporting an emergency call using a non-access stratum protocol in a mobile communication system are provided to perform an emergency call in an EPS(Evolved Packet System) network of a 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project) for supporting the next generation communication. CONSTITUTION: A terminal transmits an access request message including an emergency call identifier to an MME(Mobility Management Entity)(201). The terminal attempts authentication of the MME after transmission of the access request message(205). The terminal receives an access accept message including the emergency call identifier from the MME(207). If the access accept message is received, the terminal provides an emergency call service through the MME(211).
