AN APPARATUS FOR FIXING AND AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING THE MANHOLE COVER

An apparatus for fixing and automatically locking a manhole cover is provided to facilitate locking and releasing a manhole cover by rotating a rotary shaft according to assembly of an opening and closing rod and a coupling protrusion. An apparatus for fixing and automatically locking a manhole cover comprises: a through-hole(3) formed in the center of a manhole cover(2); a rotary shaft(7) which is established in the through-hole and is supported by a torsion spring(14); an operating bar installed at the bottom of the rotary shaft through a connecting plate; and a coupling protrusion for inserting an opening and closing rod in the upper end of the rotary shaft. The operating bar is moved to a locked location or an unlocked position in case the rotary shaft flexibly generates swing torque with a spring.
