PURPOSE: Healthy functional food and pharmaceutical compositions are provided to protect brain nerves and to restrict brain inflammatory reaction while reducing cerebral edema and cerebral infraction due to brain ischemia. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of healthy functional food and pharmaceutical compositions includes a step for extracting 12 kinds of herbal medicines with distilled water and a step for drying and freezing the extract after concentrating and filtering the extract. The herbal medicines comprises 35 ~ 40 weight% of Astragali Radix, 6 ~ 10 weight% of Angelicae gigantis Radix, 4 ~ 8 weight% of Paeoniae Radix, 3 ~ 5 weight% of Cnidii Rhizoma, 0 ~ 5 weight% of Lumbricus terrestris, 0 ~ 18 weight% of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix, 0 ~ 5 weight% of Cinnamomi Ramulus, 0 ~ 5 weight% of Polygalae Radix and 0 ~ 5 weight% of Acori Graminei Rhizoma.
