PURPOSE: An optimization method of a geothermal heat pump system is provided to secure the reliability of the system, to improve the performance, and to save the energy by optimally operating the system. CONSTITUTION: A geothermal heat pump system is composed of a heat pump unit, a geothermal heat exchanger, and a building. The heat pump unit includes a compressor, a heat source side heat exchanger, and an expansion device and a load side heat exchanger. The geothermal heat exchanger exchanges heat with the heat pump unit. The building is cooled or heated due to heat-exchanges with the heat pump unit. The optimization method of a geothermal heat pump system is composed of the steps of: measuring the inflow temperature of a second heat source side fluid flowed into the heat source side heat exchanger, the inflow temperature of a second load side fluid flowed into the load side heat exchanger, and the performance data of the heat pump unit operated at the condition set by a manufacture company(S1); setting the second heat source side temperature and the second load side temperature whose the annual amount of energy consumption is the minimum as the optimum tuning temperature of the heat pump unit after analyzing the pattern of the inflow temperature of the second heat source side fluid or second load side fluid measured in the initial step(S2); and operating the heat pump unit after tuning the heat pump unit to show the maximum performance(S3).
