APPARATUS SUPPORTING GAP BETWEEN PARENT METAL AND PLASMA TOUCH

PURPOSE: A device for maintaining a gap between base metal and a plasma torch is provided to improve working efficiency, and to increase the productivity by compensating the change of the gap between the plasma torch and the base metal from thermal deformation in plasma cutting. CONSTITUTION: A gap maintaining device between base metal(31) and a plasma torch is composed of a bracket and a sleeve body for mounting the plasma torch to a frame(43) to adjust the plasma torch up and down; a proximal sensor(55) and a cylinder placed at both sides of the plasma torch of the sleeve body to detect the distance between the end of the plasma torch and the base metal; and a touch bar, a touch roll, an elastic member and a cover(67) moving the plasma torch back and forth from the sleeve body to compensate the distance change from thermal deformation of the base metal in cutting.
