PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide secure communications between a base station, a relay station, and a mobile station in a communication network. PSOLUTION: A method of providing the secure communications between the base station, the relay station, and the mobile station in a communication network 300 includes receiving an unsolicited security key with the relay station from the base station 400; transmitting a security key request with the relay station to the base station 400 after a signaling message is received; receiving a security key from the base station 400 with the relay station according to the previously sent security key request; and authenticating the mobile station with the relay station using the received security key.
