PURPOSE: A wind power system using doubly fed induction generator and control method thereof are provided to increase the efficiency of a system by using the matrix converter of high energy efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The blade(110) delivers the power to a generator by the wind energy. The gear box(120) is positioned between the rotor of a blade and generator(130). The breaker or the CB(Circuit Breaker)(140) is connected between the stator of a generator and electric power system or the grid(170). The matrix converter(150) is connected between the rotor of a generator and electric power system or a grid.
