PURPOSE: A method for producing low molecular chitosan using microorganism is provided to massibly produce chitosan and to use as a health food, pharmaceutical product and antibacterial agent. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing low molecular chitosan using Rhyzopus strain comprises: a step of culturing Rhyzopus; a step of dissolving chitosan in a lactic acid solution; and a step of mixing the Rhyzopus culture to the chitosan solution. A method for producing tomatoes containing low molecular chitosan comprises: a step of producing low molecular chitosan by mixing Rhizopus oligosporus KCCM 10624; and a step of administering the low molecular chitosan to the tomato.
