FIELD: physics; communications.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus for transmitting universal time signals over telecommunication networks. This result is achieved due to that, distribution of precise universal time (PUT) signals over a telecommunication network is based on periodic information exchange consisting of time marks which form the precise universal time scale, and measurement of second mark delay which is a component part of the precise universal time scale. Data on the measured delay is used in reconstructing the precise universal time scale during reception on the assumption of equality of delay of distribution of precise universal time signals in the communication line from the transmitter to the receiver and from the receiver to the transmitter. According to the invention, precise universal time signals are transmitted using position of one of the national bits Sa4-Sa8, position of which is attached to the moment of formation of the second mark during transmission, and all these bits are located in the even cycle of the zero channel slot of the primary digital group providing information transmission.;EFFECT: increased accuracy of attaching precise universal time scale with simplification of the system at the same time.;2 cl, 1 dwg
