FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for processing a reaction mixture formed during synthesis of polyarylene ether ketones by reacting an aromatic dihalogen compound with bisphenol and/or halogen phenol in the presence of a carbonate of alkali and/or alkali-earth metals in a high-boiling aprotic solvent to form a polyarylene ether ketone, which involves steps for crushing the solidified reaction mixture in the presence of water, two-step washing with organic solvent and water and drying the washed product, wherein during two-stage washing, wet crushed reaction mixture has residual moisture of 1 to 30 wt %.;EFFECT: reduced residual content of salts and reaction solvent without hardware overhead.;3 cl, 6 ex
