FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: synthesis gas consisting of makeup gas or a mixture of makeup gas and recycle gas is passed through at least two synthesis steps connected in series into a synthesis system. After coming out of the synthesis steps, gases which contain the product, except gases containing the product from the last synthesis step, are divided into at least two separate streams, one of which is cooled to condensation temperature of the contained product, and the condensate containing the product is separated from the gas which is then combined with the hot portion of gases containing the product to bring their temperature to a level it should have when entering the next synthesis step. Also before repeated addition to the hot portion of gases containing the product, the separate stream from which the product was separated via condensation and then removed can be heated to a temperature, which after such heating should be below temperature of the hot portion of the gases containing the product, and the heat used for heating the separate stream from which the product was separated via condensation, can at least be partially extracted from the said stream when cooling it.;EFFECT: method allows for carrying out heterogeneous catalytic exothermal gas-phase reactions with increased output and reduced energy consumption.;14 cl, 8 dwg, 3 tbl
