FIELD: chemistry; biochemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry and biotechnology, specifically to devices for studying growth characteristics of microorganisms and can be used in microbiology. The unit has a two-necked vessel 1, filled below the level of the side opening with solid medium 2, set in form of a column. An electrode 3 is placed in the culture medium at the bottom of the vessel, where the said electrode is in form of a wire loop folded by a ring, the lead of which passes through the side opening of the vessel. The side opening is closed with a cotton-gauze plug 4, which should tightly press the lead to the wall of the vessel but does not block flow of air into the culture medium. The upper opening of the vessel is tightly closed by a plug 5, through which passes a bacteriological needle 6, which is a metal wire of diametre 0.5-1 mm. The needle is the second electrode and falls into the column with culture medium. The electrodes can be connected to a current source.;EFFECT: by combining various parametres electrophysical effect, growth of slow-growing microorganisms - producers of active substances can be sped up, growth of undesirable microflora can be inhibited and biosynthetic activity of the culture can be controlled.;1 dwg
