The device has a set of tabs (8, 9) with a support (61) movable relative to an elongated frame (2) and connected to the frame to permit translation of the support in a longitudinal direction of the device to take one of stable positions. The frame carries a locking unit to stabilize the support in each position, and a control unit (59) movable in a direction transversal to a plane of the device. The unit (59) acts on the locking unit when the unit (59) is activated, and displaces the support. The locking unit has a finger (57) higher than lateral clamps (56), and dentures (64) with teeth (65). An independent claim is also included for a bracelet clasp comprising a cover.
