The opener has clamping bodies (3) formed as a screw cap and clamped with respect to a lid (6) of a twist closure. A base (2) has a slot (4) that is connected with an opening accommodating the lid. The bodies are rotatably and shiftably arranged in the slot with respect to the base and extend into the opening. The bodies are rotated and shifted around the lid by twisting the opener such that the bodies unroll at an unrolling area (43) of a wall surface of the slot and are pressed against the lid. A contact surface (31) of the bodies and/or the area is provided with soft plastic covering.
