The device has a subtracting element (121) with an output (123) at which a difference notifying asymmetry of upper and lower output signals (60, 61) occurs. The difference is given to an input (124) of a symmetric regulator (125) and forms a control variable at an output (126) of the regulator. The variable is guided at positive inputs (127-129) of the element is active as an offset of input phase current set points (86-88). The lower signal is increased and the upper signal is reduced for a positive offset. The upper signal is increased and the lower signal is reduced for a negative offset.
