The hammer (1) has a handle (3) and a hammer head (5) with a recess (15) for partial covering of a screw connection. The recess has two parallel running wall sections, where a nut or a clamping rod e.g. threaded bar, is positively held using the sections. The recess is formed at an impact side (7) of the head, where the side is turned towards the handle and/or turned away from the handle. The recess runs perpendicular or parallel to the side of the head. The recess is arranged in a transition region between the handle and a lower surface of the head in a pointed angle to an axis of the handle.
