An apparatus for acquisition, intermediate storage and disclosure of elongated, hollow cylindrical product units (6), preferably tubes, sleeves or cans that come from a production line, has a first anlieferndes conveyor belt (3) and a continuously auslieferndes second conveyor belt (4). The first and the second conveyor belt (3, 4) are arranged horizontally one above the other in a transfer zone. A latch is designed as a high-rack storage device (5). In the transfer zone between the conveyor belts (3, 4) and the high-bay storage device (5) there is also a handling robot (2). This handling robot (2) is adapted to either (a) a number of product units (6) to withdraw from the first conveyor belt (3) and the second conveyor belt (4) or the high-rack storage device (5) feed, or (b) a refer to number of product units (6) of the high-rack storage device (5) and the second transport band (4) feed.
