High-pressure fuel pump for common-rail fuel injection system of internal combustion engine, has rear and front walls extending parallel to each other, and side wall section enclosing angle of specific degree with front wall's extension
The fuel pump has a housing (1) provided with a drive shaft (2) rotatable around an axis, where radial projections are provided in the shaft. Two cylinders (4) have cylinder heads (4.1), in which pistons (5) are held. The housing and the cylinder heads have a flat rear wall (9) and a flat front wall (10) extending parallel to each other. A side wall section (4.2) encloses an angle of 40 to 50 degree with an extension of the front wall. A high-pressure connector is arranged perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cylinders.
