Method for preparing a impregnate comprises providing liquid duroplastic synthetic resin on a fiber substrate and non-contact drying of the fiber substrate (10) provided with the liquid synthetic resin to form the impregnate, where the drying is carried out simultaneously or sequentially with infrared (IR) radiation and warm air. Independent claims are included for: (1) a device, for drying the impregnate, comprising air nozzles (16a, 16b, 18a, 18b) that are arranged on the upper- and lower-sides to dry the impregnate, where the IR-radiator is arranged between the air nozzles; and (2) the impregnate comprising the fiber substrate that is impregnated with the synthetic resin, where the ratio of the fiber substrate to synthetic resin is 1.3:1-1.7:1 (preferably 1.5:1).
