Hydrogel, which is formed by in situ radiation curing of at least one urethane acrylate precursor, is claimed, where the urethane acrylate-precursor is obtained from at least one polyalkylene oxide having ethylene oxide content of 60-90%, at least one diisocyanate and at least one unsaturated alcohol and the ratio of isocyanate to hydroxyl group is = 1. An independent claim is included for a method for preparing the hydrogel comprising reacting the polyalkylene oxide, diisocyanate and unsaturated alcohol at 20-120[deg] C optionally in the presence of catalyst of isocyanate-hydroxyl reaction and polymerization inhibitor, and UV-hardening the urethaneacrylate-precursor. ACTIVITY : Vulnerary. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
