The holder (8) has a base element and a retaining element for accommodation of a hard metal cutting element (9) and a height adjustment device that adjusts height of the cutting element. The base element and the retaining element are shifted to each other for height adjustment along an inclined surface. An adjusting element is provided for fixedly shifting the base element and the retaining element to each other. The adjusting element has a screw rotatably fixed in the base element or the retaining element. A spring element is arranged between the base element and the retaining element. An independent claim is also included for a device for processing ends of a pipe.
