The system has an optical display unit e.g. touch-sensitive and/or convergence-sensitive display unit, presenting different image outputs (B1, B2) for different viewing angle regions (alpha 1, alpha 2). An action assigning unit assigns a detected actuating action to one of the viewing angle regions. One of the image outputs of the viewing angle region is partially represented in the other image output when the actuating action is assigned to one of the viewing angle regions or during detection of the other viewing angle region. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a display-and operating system for a motor vehicle.
