The component assembly (1) has a headlamp pot (12) which consists of a receiving plate (15) for mounting the headlamp and a reinforcement element which is connected with the receiving plate. The reinforcement element is arranged on a side of a recess (2). A mudguard (3) is connected with a sealing channel body (8) within the area of a groove in a bonnet of the motor vehicle. The reinforcement element is connected with the sealing channel body and the mudguard. An independent claim is included for a method for forming a component assembly.
