The silencer (20) has a wall (26) provided with an inner side (22) and an outer side. Outlet openings (30) extend from the inner side to the outer side. Recesses (40) are in form of bag holes and provided with a limitation surface (42), where an area of the limitation surface is spaced at a distance from the outer side and/or the inner side of the wall. A sound reducing element forms a base surface (44) of the limitation surface and has an expandable membrane that is parallel to inner side or outer side. An independent claim is also included for an airbag gas generator arrangement comprising a silencer and a gas generator unit.
