The device (10) has a dirt collecting tray (11) inserted into a tray retainer (12) at an installation side. A grating (14) covers the collecting tray, and a dust and moisture permeable fabric mat (15) is attached on the grating. A dirt box (18) is arranged below the grating. The grating is retained in a present distance to a tray base of the tray retainer by a distance piece (16). A grating vibrator (23) is associated to the grating. The dirt box is closed by a membrane (20). The collecting tray has a ventilation connection for introducing hot or cold air.
