The invention relates to a method for producing a crack-resistant Gießßharztransformators, wherein a casting resin is used for electrical insulation of a winding body of the Gießharztransformators. Furthermore, the invention relates to a cast-resin transformer with an existing of cast resin electrical insulation of a winding body of the cast resin transformer. By adding a toughener modifier of up to 20 phr (parts per hundred resin) to the liquid casting resin in conjunction with the addition of an accelerator, in the case of a co-ordinated hardening process by linear or staircase rising temperature profiles, the crack resistance of the casting resin and thus the life of the cast resin transformer sustained increase.
