The method involves carrying out pressure decrease and/or pressure generation by control valves that are controlled by a process controller. Pre-controlling of the control valves is carried out in an intermediate cycle that is upstream to a pressure decrease cycle and/or a pressure generation cycle before the control valves control pressure ramp and/or pressure transfer. The duration of the intermediate cycle amounts to maximum of 1 second, where the intermediate cycle lies between process steps.
