The chair has a leg support (40) pivotably adjustable between a raised horizontal position and a lowered deep position relative to a seat surface (2) by a rotating device (7). The leg support is lowered into a vertical deep position and moved away from the seat surface in the raised horizontal position. The leg support is automatically moved into the seat surface in the lowered deep position. The leg support is automatically unlockable during an advancing movement in the raised horizontal position. The leg support is arranged at the rotating device with a virtual rotation axis.
