The method involves aligning a lens (100) on a rotary bearing (102) such that a variable of radius of an impact circle of a laser beam visualized on a display is minimized, where an optical axis (104) of the lens falls together with a rotation axis (106) of the rotary bearing. Push-buttons are arranged in an opposite direction in an aligned manner and pivoted such that an axis of the push- buttons falls together with the rotation axis of the bearing after pivoting. Thickness of the lens on the rotation axis is measured by contacting of the push-buttons. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring the thickness of a center of a centered and non-centered lens.
