The method involves encoding a message with a public key, and sending the encoded message to a switching circuit (2) via a line (3) i.e. wire line. The encoded message is decoded by the switching circuit using a private key. The private key and the public key are assigned in such a manner that the message encoded by the public key is decoded only with the private key. The private key is protected against reading. Measuring data is detected and transmitted by the switching circuit. Measuring potential of the switching circuit is connected with a mass of a battery. An independent claim is also included for a switching circuit for performing an asymmetric cryptographic technique.
