The feeder has a frame (1) carrying a feed funnel (2) and supported on an upper edge (9) of a feed channel (4) by running wheels (3). The wheels are driven by a motor (7). A discharge opening of the funnel is led above a base of the feed channel. The wheels are adjustable in height against restoring force of a spring element. A drive chain (6) carried by the frame cogs with drive wheels (5), which are connected with the running wheels. A dosing element is attached at the discharge opening of the funnel, and includes two wall elements displaceably connected with each other.
