The paste comprises a mixture of two components, A and B. The first (A) has a methacrylic acid content less than 1% and a water content less than 1%. The second (B) includes at least one polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) with a Tg exceeding 65[deg] C and a molecular weight of 200000 g/mol or more. The methyl methacrylate proportion is sufficiently high that the PMMA paste is auto-sterile. The mass ratio B:A is expressed as 10-50% to 50-90%. The polymethylmethacrylate molecular weight exceeds 300000 g/mol or 500000 g/mol. An independent claim is included for a method of making one- or two-component bone cements.
