The tool component i.e. rotary table (1), has a rotary drive provided around a rotation axis (10), and a balancing system comprising a compensating mass (9) i.e. solid body, and a positioning device, which is provided for positioning the compensating mass. The positioning device exhibits a drive unit and a mechanical adjusting system. A vibration sensor (7) is provided for determining unbalance of the component. A feedback unit regulates the balancing system based on output of the sensor. A table board (2) has a clamping device for clamping a workpiece (5) and a turning chisel (6). An independent claim is also included for a method for balancing a machine tool component i.e. rotary table.
