The cover (1) has magnets for detachable fastening the cover at a body (5) of a motor vehicle (10) i.e. English sports car, where the cover covers an upward open interior of the vehicle with an opened convertible soft top. A braid (4) is made from cotton and wool along its edge, and the magnets are arranged in the braid. A ball scraper shaped stitched down region (3) receives an instrument carrier projecting upwards from an instrument panel of the vehicle, and the cover is made of artificial leather. A variable length reinforcement is designed as a flexible bar made from metal or plastic.
