The appliance i.e. baking-oven (12), has a door (18) joined by door upper and lower joints (22, 24) around a vertical rotation axis and provided with door front surfaces. The door joints are arranged in a front surface region e.g. lateral front wall section (38), and project before the front surface region. A compartment is lockable by the door, and the door joints have a pivotable bearing part that is fastened to the door. A fixed bearing part is fastened to a housing (13), and joint pins connect the pivotable bearing part and fixed bearing part.
