The method involves applying a covering material e.g. clay, on a recessed- or an elevated structure (4). Surface (6) or lateral edges (8) of the structure are opened, and a region of an object surface (3) surrounding the structure is laminarly covered with the material, when the structure is the elevated structure. The object surface surrounding the structure, and the lateral edges are opened, and a base is covered with the material, when the structure is the recessed structure. The opened regions are provided with a color- or lacquer coating, and the material is subsequently removed. A thermosetting liquid plastic or a two component plastic is used as the covering material.
