The system (5) has a supporting unit comprising a shaft (2) and a contour for holding a sharpening unit attachment (4). The supporter consists of deformation resistant material which is resistant against temperature of 134 degree Celsius. The attachment consists of a rigid humidity-resistant and electrically conductive material such as stainless steel, and a sharpening material such as diamond. The attachment is moved relatively from the contour and is moved away from the contour to increase the resistance between the attachment and the contour. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a sharpening system.
