Process for dewatering of fibrous suspensions, dispersions and slurries during paper manufacturing, is claimed, where the dewatered product contains a polymer, which changes its structure according to the variation in the physical environment conditions and physical environment condition is varied during the dewatering process so that the variation fulfills the structural change of the polymer. An independent claim is included for the polymer used in the process comprising poly-N-alkylacrylamide, polyalkylene oxide, poly(N-alkylacrylamide), ethyl-(hydroxyethyl)-cellulose, poly(N-vinylcaprolactam), poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) and/or polymethylvinylether.
