The method involves deflecting magnetic field of a permanent magnet between two flow paths of the magnetic field by an impulse at a magneto electric control element i.e. coil, for processing of particles in biotechnology. The magnetic field is switched along a flow path of an operating volume by an electrical impulse at the control element along the flow path. A particle is processed in the operating volume, and the switching of the magnetic field and the particle processing are repeated until the processing is completed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for separating a magnetizable material (2) a device for processing of particles according to magnetic susceptibility.
