The method involves fastening an end of a rebound strap (5) to an inner side of a fabric blank (3). Another end of the rebound strap is fastened to the inner side of the fabric blank by embracing a connecting area, where outer sides the fabric blank lie on top of each other. A tear seam is attached between the rebound strap and a lower edge of a gas bag section. The gas bag section is folded above the tearing seam. The folded gas bag section is inserted into the fabric blank. The fabric blank is everted. An independent claim is also included for a gas bag comprising a rebound strap.
