Copolymer (I) comprising 20-95 wt.% of structural units derived from at least one hydrophilic monomer (II) and (b) 5-80 wt.% of structural units derived from at least one olefin monomer unit (III), is new, where (I) has a water content of 1-59 wt.%. Copolymer (I) comprising 20-95 wt.% of structural units derived from at least one hydrophilic monomer (II) and (b) 5-80 wt.% of structural units derived from at least one olefin monomer unit of formula (III), is new, where (I) has a water content of 1-59 wt.%. Y 1O or NR 4; X : O, S, SO or SO 2; S 1CHR 5or (CHR 5CHR 5O) iCH 2; R 5H or alkyl; R 1-R 5H or alkyl; n, i : 1-10; and m : 2-6. Independent claims are included for: (1) an ophthalmic lens comprising (I); and (2) an ophthalmological composition, which is based on acrylate- and/or methacrylate comprising an UV-absorber, with which one or more acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid units are bonded to optionally substituted coumarin base structure over an alkyl spacer, and a violet absorber on basis of a N-alkoxyacrylate and/or N-alkoxymethacrylate or optionally substituted nitroaniline, which is based on N,N-dialkoxyacrylate and/or N N-dialkoxymethacrylate.
